        It was my first time to encounter the term "Media Convergence". I learned from our class that Media Convergence is the co-existence of various forms of media such as print media, broadcast media and new media, that can either be traditional or new media. 

We were then tasked to classify the various forms of media whether it is print, broadcast or new media. Below is the table and my answers to the questions.

We were asked to define the following terms in our own words:

Print Media – it is a form of media in the form of paper or that underwent in a printing process that can either be traditional or mechanical.

Broadcast Media- it is a form of media that is intangible. It uses radio, television and other media that uses airwaves in order to provide the information needed to the audience.

New Media- a form of media used when you want to inform, persuade or give information to a large number of audience locally and in abroad. It uses social medias as platform in providing information.

MEDIA CONVERGENCE IN:	PLATFORM	SPECIFIC EXAMPLE
COMMUNICATION	Social Network	You and your friends can catch up with each other through handwritten mail or through Skype or Facebook.
EDUCATION	Learning Management System	Most schools uses books and modules as their main source of information. But these books and modules can be found and downloadable in the net, ebook and on Google.
ADVERTISEMENT/COMMERCIAL	Product Advertisements	There are different strategies and techniques that a company use in order to effectively endorse their product to the people. One of them is by playing a commercial on TV, posting and sharing blogs on Social Media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, and advertising the products on Magazines. Such is the case for various beauty products like Olay and Ponds which can be seen on TV, CandyMag, and on various sites.
NEWS	News Agency	ABS CBN provides the latest news in our country and in abroad. Their news can be watched on TV or it can also be seen on its official site online and on its Twitter and Facebook page.
ENTERTAINMET	Multimedia Personality	Aside from the ever prevailing Kris Aquino, we also have the new Maine Mendoza. She can be seen on TV and known in the “Aldub” session in Eat Bulaga, she also recently published her book 'Yup, I Am That Girl' that reveals her #unfiltered self. Also, she has a lot of Twitter and Instagram followers.

Describe how new technologies have led to the convergence of traditional and new media

The old and traditional media can be transferred to a new and innovative form of media through new technologies. Through this, various media will coincide to effectively provide information in an accessible manner.

Explain how media convergence creates new opportunities for interaction.

                With the convergence of various media, the interaction will be at a fast and in an instant pace due to the availability of different forms of sharing and interactions. It will provide new opportunities by spreading information to a larger number of recipients.

Describe the use of one or two forms of new media to share knowledge and information on a current issue in a society

                The use of one or two forms of new media to share knowledge and information on a current issue on a society will help provide the latest news to the people in an accessible manner. Accessibility of media will help the people to be more aware of their surroundings.

Explain how a person could be portrayed in public in the age of media convergence

                A person could be displayed and can be seen in the public in so many ways by using a variety of media. A new rising star for example can appear not just on TV but also in social media sites, magazines and newspapers. With these media, it will expose numerous information about this person in a good or in a bad way.
