We were also able to discuss about Indigenous Media and Information for this week. Below shows my Mind Map of my own understanding about the lesson.
Indigenous Media and Information includes Indigenous
knowledge, a local knowledge that is unique to the society and most often not
written in textbooks. The indigenous or the local people are the ones who
creates the information and data which is communicated to the society by means
of using their own language or through verbal means and the use of different
channels and media. Indigenous Media and Information includes the culture of a
society. It can be an information about their way of living, education, society,
people and the groups/tribes.

typically the way on how people use to find information that matches their
needs is through researching in the internet or through browsing social media
sites and they no longer limit themselves in getting information through print
media like books, encyclopedia and dictionaries.
Today, the Internet is the most commonly used media provider
in the world. Because of its easy and simple capacity to provide information to
vast number of people, this makes the internet the number one source of
information to the people. It serves the needs of the society and find what
people want. But we must also remember that there are other forms of media on

if the people will be able to know the sort of media that matches their needs
and preferences in order for them to get the best out of the information needed
How do I choose from
the wide variety of information made available by different sources?
In order to get the best information from the wide variety
of information from different sources, I need to know the appropriate
information that best suits my needs. By analysing and using my critical
reading skills, I will have to check whether the information given is accurate
